FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE W Ketchup Calls on Congress to Reject the Immigration Bill
Within fifteen years there were over half a million immigrants per year. Eight years later there were over one million annually. In 1986 the Congress passed the Immigration Reform and Control Act. Senator Kennedy supported the bill by declaring: “This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1-1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We well never again bring forward another Amnesty Bill like this.” There are currently an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants living in the United States. This year Senator Kennedy sponsored a bill that effectively grants amnesty and citizenship to the illegal immigrants, saying: “Now it is time for action. 2007 is the year we must fix our broken system.” Dan Oliver, CEO of W Ketchup, commented: “Senator Kennedy is the man most responsible for the current immigration mess. It is a dereliction of duty for Congress to allow this man to influence immigration policy further. Congress and the President must demonstrate they can fix our borders and enforce existing law before asking the American people to trust them again on this fundamental issue.” Chairman of W Ketchup, Bill Zachary, added: “In 1986 President Reagan stated that his policy was to ‘humanely regain control of our borders and thereby preserve the value of one of the most sacred possessions of our people, American citizenship.’ To allow yet another Kennedy amnesty devalues our most prized possession. America cannot allow this bill to become law.” W Ketchup salutes all legal immigrants to our great nation, especially those who have volunteered to serve their new country in the military.
