W Ketchup™ Congratulates Bush for Appointing Alito to the Supreme Court

Eagle Bridge, NY — January 31, 2006 — W Ketchup congratulates Judge Samuel A. Alito on his confirmation to the Supreme Court, and congratulates President Bush for facing down the liberal special interest groups who tried to defeat Judge Alito’s confirmation. By appointing Alito, President Bush continues to fulfill a pledge he made in both campaigns: to appoint justices to the Supreme Court in the model of Justices Scalia and Thomas.

Last weekend, in a last-ditch effort to reward the ultra-liberal groups that supported his failed presidential campaign, Senator John Kerry joined with Senator Edward Kennedy to stage a filibuster in an attempt to prevent a confirmation vote. However, the two senators from Massachusetts mustered only 25 votes to sustain their filibuster, which many legal scholars believe is unconstitutional in this context. Unconfirmed reports suggested that Kerry's efforts were hampered by the fact that he was in Switzerland, where he received his education at an all-male boarding school.

W Ketchup Chairman Bill Zachary commented: “We think today brings into focus the choice that America made in the last election. Whereas Senator Kerry voted for Judge Scalia in 1986, he is now a mere pawn of the extreme left-wing of the Democratic Party. On the other hand, Bush reveals himself as a man of principle fulfilling his promise to the American people.”

John Forbes Kerry continues to be married to Maria Teresa Thiersten Simoes-Ferreira Heinz—although she dropped the “Kerry” from her name shortly after the end of his doomed presidential campaign. Mrs. Heinz continues to support Kerry’s political ambitions and her own liberal causes. W Ketchup continues to sell delicious, freedom-loving ketchup made in America for Americans.
