W Ketchup™ Urges its Customers to Vote

Eagle Bridge, NY — November 6, 2012 — Today our great country will decide whether to continue the slouch toward collectivism — the tyranny of the state — or renew our founders' promise of individual liberty.

We do not know if Romney can arrest the decay that attacks all institutions and societies. But, we can be certain that four more years under Obama would result in a poorer, weaker America and a more dangerous world.

In 1899, William Graham Sumner warned against the goals of Progressivism:
Our ancestors all came here to isolate themselves from the social burdens and inherited errors of the old world. When the others are all over ears in trouble, who would not be isolated in freedom from care? When the others are crushed under the burden of militarism, who would not be isolated in peace and industry? When the others are all struggling under debt and taxes, who would not be isolated in the enjoyment of his own earnings for the benefit of his own family? When the rest are all in a quiver of anxiety, lest at a day's notice they may be involved in a social cataclysm, who would not be isolated out of reach of the disaster?
The Progressives spent the century since Sumner spoke those words bringing the errors of the old world to these shores. Wilsonian foreign policy has used America's mitliary for nation-building exercises abroad, dissipating our blood and treasure. Democrat legislators have taxed our labor and capital to pay swarms of bureaucrats to harass us. The liberal media has stoked class, race, gender, and generational division in cynical support of Progressive politicians.

Mr. Obama has combined the evils of Progressivism with the anti-Western, Marxist dreams of his father. He strives to unilaterally disarm our nuclear deterrent even while ignoring Iranian and encouraging Russian ambitions. He seeks to raise taxes and benefits so that all will depend upon and fear the state. He finds deficits useful to undermine the strength of the dollar and sabotage the economic and political might a strong currency entails. He yields nothing in his quest to fundamentally transform America into yet another collectivist experiment, doomed to fail.

A Romney victory would entail more than the elevation of one man, who admittedly has an imperfect past and imprecise policy. A Romney victory would enable conservative think tanks to contribute policy proposals to undo the damage Progressivism has wrought. It would transform Republicans in the House and Senate into policy makers enabling them to seach for solutions to our many challenges. It would preserve the conservative majority on the Supreme Court. And, there is no doubt that Americans unleashed from the fetters of government would solve whatever economic problems beset us.

We urge all patriots to vote and to ensure their friends and family vote as well. Even in the blue states, if every Republican voted, we could banish American Progressivism to the history books. Yes, we can still salvage the ideals of our founders.
